MPA UK- A United Family In The United Kingdom

The MPA U.K. (Malayalee Pentecostal Association in the United Kingdom) is a family in a foreign field that has come together for the purpose of maintaining its unity and celebrating its distinctiveness. Its members and adherents are people with a Pentecostal passion and a sense of belonging, who dare to be different even in a distant land.

Our history and heritage as Malayalee Pentecostals speaks for itself, in that the pioneers of the movement in Kerala were men and women who kept a very strong family link between the various streams of Pentecostalism. Denominational or structural set-up was a not barrier for families to gather for fellowship and spiritual activities. Their love and dedication to the Lord and to one another has kept the movement going from strength to strength.

The MPA U.K. is made up of families and individuals who are committed to carry on with the same passion and sense of belonging that has been passed on from the pioneers. It has not been easy for many of us to adjust to the changes and challenges we faced when we first moved to this foreign land of Great Britain. Our faith and family may have gone through some tough times over the months and years as we were getting used to with the new culture and customs of the adopted country. However, we have come thus far by the grace of God, still keeping our Pentecostal spirituality and the focus on family.

Malayalee Pentecostal families in a foreign land are vulnerable. They could face a future that is contrary to the biblical standards and our long-cherished Pentecostal practises and doctrinal distinctive. I thank God for the MPA U.K., because this is a forum for all Malayalee Pentecostals to come together and be a strong family in a foreign land.

Here we face our challenges together; we deal with relevant issues and find solutions for the common good. We pray together and cry together; we celebrate and share together. We are a family in a foreign land, yet waiting for our promised land!
