MPA – The Talk of Malayalee Homes
Among the many Malayalee churches, organisations and associations that have come up recently in Great Britain, the MPAUK (Malayalee Pentecostal Association in United Kingdom) is the one that has brought the greatest impact upon the people. It is no surprise that the talk of the Malayalee homes in UK, Europe, USA and beyond, is about the quality conferences and gatherings of the MPA that has transformed their lives and sustained them in difficult and different circumstances. The Leaders and members of the Association are determined and committed to pursue the Pentecostal path of spirit filled life and service to continue to impact the generation for Jesus Christ.

The Passion of the Pioneers
The MPA UK had a small beginning in 2002-03, with a handful of like minded pastors and believers who met in Hounslow, Middx. The purpose of the very first gathering was to form an association of Malayalees that is open to all who share the Pentecostal doctrines and practices, to meet for spiritual fellowship, teaching, and for mutual support and help in a foreign land. The founding members were passionate about keeping the unity of the Spirit while churches and members were meeting and serving God under various denominations and operating in their own unique ways. The pioneers of the MPA may never have dreamed about the impact it was going to make upon our generation.

Our Banner
The motto of the Association from the beginning is: “LET US EXALT HIS NAME TOGETHER”. This has become our banner, under which we all fellowship, do the business of the Kingdom of God, and try to impact the society and the generation. It is the Lord Jesus Who is the source of our inspiration. It is by the power of the Holy Spirit that we demonstrate the deeper fellowship and mutual support. It is the love of Christ that draws us together to be one in heart, mind and purpose.

Pentecostal and Practical

In order to impact the Malayalee community in UK, we must get rid of our pride, prejudice, power and pettiness. One must be willing to sacrifice his personal preferences, selfish motives, and the unnecessary and outdated agendas for the sake of reaching out to those who may not worship or work like us. A narrow minded Malayalee cannot positively influence his fellow men. First of all we must be truly Pentecostal and thoroughly practical in order to see others drawn to the Kingdom of God. The change and transformation must take place first in the believer, and then the Spirit of God would use us to be agents of change.

Remarkable Achievement

MPAUK is a united forum where believers of all denominations and non denominations feel connected. Year after year we see the increased attendance in our regional and national conferences. This is truly a remarkable achievement and a testimony and evidence that the Association is alive and well and is impacting lives throughout UK. Our 4th Annual Conference that took place in Birmingham (April 2007) was a successful one, though we faced challenges, oppositions and accusations from some in our Malayalee community. The testimonies and comments from people who had attended and associated with the MPA are numerous. The positive influence and the dynamic impact upon families and churches in UK are the results of the sacrificial service of the faithful leaders and members of the Association. I commend them for their commitment and courage to support the MPA Family even in times of crisis.

The 5th National Conference
We are anticipating a great and blessed conference in March 2008 as we convene for the 5th National Conference. The Venue chosen by the Executive Committee is Southall in West London. The guest speakers are invited and confirmed for the three days during the Easter Weekend. The Trustees, National Executive Committee, the National Representatives, the Malayalee churches in UK and the friends of the MPA are excited and expectant about the conference in London.
Expecting Another Debt Free Conference . This is what we pray and work for even in the 5th Annual Conference. The task is great, the work is extensive, the challenges are many, but together we will achieve the goal of holding a spirit-directed conference that will impact the delegates and even those who are distant. May I request your sincere prayers, sacrificial support, and generous gifts towards the ongoing work of the MPAUK.
Be part of an Association that Impacts You and your Family.

Sincerely Yours,
Pastor Joe Kurian
